Marc Holley’s career has focused on leveraging philanthropy to create sustainable and impactful change in communities around the world. He currently serves as Chief Philanthropy Officer with the Walton Personal Philanthropy Group, based in Bentonville, AR. In this role, he oversees grantmaking and other philanthropic pursuits dedicated to creating greater access to high-quality educational options and to improving quality of life in Arkansas.
Previously, he served as the Vice President of Strategy and Programs at the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, where he was responsible the foundation’s strategic initiatives and global grantmaking to promote its mission of improving the lives of people living in conditions of disadvantage worldwide. Marc’s work at the Los Angeles based Hilton Foundation focused on key areas such as early childhood development, homelessness, foster youth, and refugees.
Before his tenure at the Hilton Foundation, Marc held the position of Interim Executive Director and Director of Strategy, Learning, and Evaluation at the Walton Family Foundation. There, he contributed to the foundation’s strategic planning and evaluation processes, ensuring that the philanthropic efforts were impactful and aligned with the foundation’s goals.
Marc’s career also includes six years of experience as a school administrator and teacher, as well as international service as a Peace Corps volunteer in Romania. His academic background includes a PhD in public policy from the University of Arkansas, master’s degree in Education Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia, and an A.B. in classics from Harvard University.
