Re: Dell Hell for customers who actually dare need support (Score: 0) by Probably_A_Spammer on Thursday, April 01 2004 @ 20:19 PST | Years ago Compaq had the best technical support in North America. The very best call centers were in Houston TX, Florida and site 47 in Ottawa, Canada. In 2002 shortly after greedy HP merged with Compaq, they outsourced these call centers to India, Asia where "Techs" work for about $1.50 / hr and hardly speak any English, let alone supporting your PC. All this to save a few bucks on you. They are pressured into sales. Sell as many parts to the customer as possible. All about the mighty dollar. These companies forget customer service.
The money comes automatically once the good reputation is built. Can't buy it, gotta earn it! Compaq = Comcrap. Dell = Hell. What's the difference?!?!? |

Now they are offering a $150 credit good towards the purchase of a dell product. Oh boy, just what I want; another peice of crap. |

I ordered a pc system I saw on the internet. When I couldn’t place the order over the net I called a salesman. We looked at the internet offer together and he said he could offer that too.
Big mistake!!
The salesman lied, among other things Dell charged me for a service contract that I didn’t order and sent a crt monitor and not the flat screen on the advertised deal. Customer service doesn't understand English, That is, they speak it, but work from a script so that everything comes back to a circle of the customer is always wrong (even though the salesman's voice mail box is full so no one can reach him and then he doesn’t work there any more.)
I have never had a worse experience with any purchase of anything.
They don’t answer their mail. The folks that answer the phone are absolutely inept and rude. Don’t buy from them!!! Steve
